Moon Walker - Apocalypse Now

Copied!edit Lyrics
original text at lyrnow.com/1836894
Verse 1
Dusk to dawn and ash to dust
We see the sky open up
We live atop all the destruction
Built bigger homes on the erosion
And we don't hear no voices call
We blocked them out so many years ago
Whenever acid rain does fall
We'll burn the bodies of the weak and old

Chorus
Turn the page
Burn the book
Turn off the TV; you're just thinking too much
And it's keeping you up at night
Lost count of sheep and still staring at the ceiling
You don't need it
Just close your eyes until you believe it
Turn away
Sneak a look
Don't take a picturе; you've been seeing too much
And it's tearing you up inside
Still picking up thе pieces and searching for the meaning
You don't need it
Just close your eyes until you believe it

Verse 2
Bring the drums back

Tell my children that I'm sorry
But tell the press that I didn't mean it
Tell my mother not to worry
But tell the world I don't regret it
And as the final bomb goes off
I'll be at the gates of Heaven
Begging god to let me in
Promising he won't regret it again

Chorus
Turn the page
Burn the book
Turn off the TV; you're just thinking too much
And it's keeping you up at night
Lost count of sheep and still staring at the ceiling
You don't need it
Just close your eyes until you believe it
Turn away
Sneak a look
Don't take a picture; you've been seeing too much
And it's tearing you up inside
Still picking up the pieces and searching for the meaning
You don't need it
Just close your eyes until you believe it

Bridge
Been running for the past week (past week)
Can't stop till the morning (morning)
I'll be running on no sleep (sleep)
Still no one can catch me (catch me)
These apocalypse dreams feel so real (so real)
There ain't a moment that they won't steal (won't steal)
I packed my shit and left the city (city)
Where they couldn't find me (find me)
But I was wrong (wrong)
These apocalypse scars are bone-deep (bone-deep)
Who knew the end would be so lonely? (so lonely)
I can end it all at 50
I could lose myself in pity
I could find myself in Heaven before too long

Ending
These apocalypse dreams feel so real
These apocalypse marks just won't heal
This apocalypse isn't coming
It's happening now (now, now, now)
These apocalypse scars are bone-deep (this apocalypse isn't coming)
Who knew the end would be so lonely? (this apocalypse isn't coming)
I could end it in a second
Before they ever get me
Who knew that the apocalypse was happening now?

Using a string of eclectic, yet similarly electrifying singles as their fuel, Moon Walker crashed onto the earth like a space age rocket. The duo’s undeniable energy and inimitable musical chemistry is the result of over half a decade of playing shows and self-releasing music together.

Taking cues from such legends as Bowie, Talking Heads and Led Zeppelin, singer/guitarist Harry Springer and drummer Sean McCarthy have created a fusion of explosive drum grooves and thrashing guitar riffs that is all their own. While listeners might hear traces of glam rock, post punk, or even kraut rock echoing through debut record (coming soon), one would be left scratching their head for weeks if they sought to limit Moon Walker’s vast soundscape to one genre. With bold, timely lyrics that confront such issues as economic inequality, media sensationalism and social responsibility, Moon Walker has made it clear that they will never shy away from shouting what they believe in. So, listen up, because Moon Walker has a lot to say and they aren’t going anywhere.
