chorus: ryan beatty
The weight on my shoulders
I just can't get over
He won't take me back
But he still got my heart
The weight on my shoulders
I just can't get over
He won't take me back
And they don't know how hard it is

post-chorus: ryan beatty
Don't know how hard it is
Don't know how hard it is
Don't know how hard it is
They don't know how hard it is
Yeah, baby!
You were somebody (bitch)

verse 1: matt champion
I would rep the wedding, fuck the reverend and your father
Red opp, like to beat the groom up with the bottle
Take this way back, way back to chicago
Felt like you and i was in the othеr nights, all i know
Damn it, when you met me outsidе with couple friends
Say you missed the show, but tomorrow we do again
Invited to your 'partment, well girl i'm all in
Know i'm 'bout to get no sleep 'till the morning
Come on now baby, don't hold out baby
If you wanna hoe, i'm a hoe now baby
We grown now baby, i'm on now baby
I turned around and looked around and you gone now baby
Invited you to malibu, you ditched and did me dirty
Little did i know, it's just a reoccuring pattern
You're always on my mind, and we're always crossing passes
And i love the conversation, and sleeping next to you naked

chorus: ryan beatty
The weight on my shoulders
I just can't get over
He won't take me back
But he still got my heart
The weight on my shoulders
I just can't get over
He won't take me back
And they don't know how hard it is

verse 2: ameer vann
The next nigga you with, imma rob him
Tie him up in his house with you watching
Then set it on fire with him inside it
I feel pain inside, i'm real tired
I get caught in my head and turn violent
I hate that nigga to death, so i'm plotting
When i see you with him, hit his feeling again
I just want him to die, and i ain't playing with him
If i see him again, you won't see him again
Might be a lil' accident
Some niggas might run up in the 'partment, man
Got love for you, ain't gotta make it hard for him
So sorry darling, babe pardon
I ain't seen him, talked to my lawyers
I'm tripping, caught in my problems
Real jealous-hearted, i'm sorry

verse 3: merlyn wood
I love my chain with a dime so fine
Then she hurt my heart, was i ever really tryin'?
Glued to a house perm, looking like a lime
I think we fucked near american airlines
Damn, i think i came too quick, missed the stop sign
Hate goes all for my ex, like alumni
Like shit simple, no fighting
Even though i'm from houston, not reliant
Every girl na-na bust by poseidon
Let's at least uh-uh if you ask them
Merlyn a leprechaun, you can't catch him
I need to get the fuck out of los angeles
All i found is broke womens and collagen
When you left, it was no big thang
Cause i knew i'd never get that weak 'gain
I miss that shit!
-gain

chorus: ryan beatty
The weight on my shoulders
I just can't get over
He won't take me back
But he still got my heart
The weight on my shoulders
I just can't get over
He won't take me back
And they don't know how hard it is

post-chorus: ryan beatty
Don't know how hard it is
Don't know how hard it is
Don't know how hard it is
They don't know how hard it is
Yeah, baby!
(bitch)

verse 4: joba
Absence makes the heart grow fonder
I'm the one you've always wanted
Didn't mean to hurt you darling
But come get these clothes
I did not burn them
But it crossed my mind
I put them on hangers
And hung 'em outside
Two hearts too involved
Cause the matrix of thoughts
Now you're blowin' up my phone
Leave me alone, don't think i like you no more
Too close to call, but i'm standing my ground
Prideful to the core, deep come knockin' at my door
How could you do this to me?
I do not deserve what you're doing
And i love you so much, you're a beauty
Let's just stay inside, and watch tv
Maybe i'm being insensitive, or maybe i'm just too damn sensitive
But either way my fears subside
Every time you spend the night

chorus: ryan beatty
The weight on my shoulders
I just can't get over
He won't take me back
But he still got my heart
The weight on my shoulders
I just can't get over
He won't take me back
And they don't know how hard it is

Biography

edit bio
BROCKHAMPTON is an LA-based boyband that was originally formed in San Marcos, Texas in 2015. The group was founded by high school friends Ian “Kevin Abstract” Simpson and Ameer Vann, who initially formed a group called ALIVESINCEFOREVER in 2012. After releasing their debut EP, The ASF EP, in 2013, the group disbanded at the end of 2014 and rebranded themselves as BROCKHAMPTON.

The band consists of a diverse roster of creatives, including musicians, graphic designers, producers, and videographers, who come together to create a mix of content. Named after the street that Kevin Abstract grew up on in Corpus Christi, TX, BROCKHAMPTON was founded out of a desire for connection and friendship.

In 2015, BROCKHAMPTON gained recognition with the release of their song “Dirt” on A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records, marking a breakthrough moment in their career. The following year, they released their debut mixtape, ALL-AMERICAN TRASH, and in 2017, they gained popularity with the release of their debut album, SATURATION, followed by SATURATION II and SATURATION III later that year.

After signing with RCA Records in 2018, the band faced challenges with the dismissal of rapper Ameer Vann due to sexual assault allegations. Despite this setback, BROCKHAMPTON released their fourth album, iridescence, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. The album marked the beginning of a new trilogy titled THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES.

In 2019, BROCKHAMPTON released their fifth full-length record, GINGER, which showcased their versatility and creativity as a group. With a lineup that includes members such as Kevin Abstract, Matt Champion, Merlyn Wood, Dom McLennon, Russell “Joba” Boring, and more, BROCKHAMPTON continues to push boundaries and redefine the boyband genre with their unique sound and collaborative spirit.
