Joseph A.A. - hit and run
Hotel pillowcase
Lipstick all over my face
What do you do when you’re not with me?
Heartbreak all over this town
Earthquake on foreign ground
What will we do when we get found?
★ Pre-Chorus ★
Carlton, but I’m nineteen now
Blonde hair and you’re spinning around
Something pink in my drink right now
And pretty close to hitting the ground
Stumble down these narrow halls
Carve our names in bathroom stalls
Hang my jacket up on the wall
I guess I’m not the guy that I was last fall
★ Chorus ★
You hit me fast like a hit and run
Fast like a hit and run
You hit me fast like a hit and run
Fast like a hit and run
Let’s just say I don’t know his name
Let’s just say I don’t know your game
I know that we had said goodbye
But what if we put that aside tonight
You hit me fast like a hit and run
Fast like a hit and run
★ Verse Two ★
Midnight, lonely bed
Nightmare you were back with him
What would you do if he called again?
Drive somewhere far enough away
Till the radio is staticky
What will we do when the skyline fades?
★ Pre-Chorus ★
Laying low on your mama’s roof
Truth or dare but without the truth
Miami heat at the Fontainebleau
You’re skipping down Collin’s Avenue
Alleyways, wrong side of town
Smell of smoke on my jacket now
Looking for you in a loaded crowd
Lust is the feeling that I feel right now
★ Chorus ★
You hit me fast like a hit and run
Fast like a hit and run
You hit me fast like a hit and run
Fast like a hit and run
Let’s say I don’t know his name
Let’s say I don’t know your game
I know that you had said hello
To a couple guys back at home
You hit me fast like a hit and run
Fast like a hit and run
★ Outro ★
I know you know how to get out of a hit and run
I know you know how to get out of a hit and run
I know you know how to get out of a hit and run
I know you know how to get out of a hit and run

Biography
While I loved working with that song, I knew exactly what I wanted my style to sound like for my sophomore single. I wanted an upbeat pop song that was completely unexpected and out of nowhere. I wrote “self reflection” with that mindset and kept that idea in the back of my mind.
I wanted “self reflection” to sound like the happier, continued version of “seasons” where the storyline character really found what they wanted and where they were going, and accepted the fact that there are two sides to a relationship, and it’s not one person’s obligation to take ownership for both people in that relationship.
I’m currently working on my debut album, and I cannot wait to share it with you as soon as I can!
