Joseph A.A. - innocent
There i was driving past your house, you were home
But it wasn’t you i saw in your bedroom window
But that’s when i got to learn that you have a guy
You moved on so quickly, but what about me?
I’m fine
I swear i’m fine
★ pc ★
I’m not about to ruin what only us had
But you tell me your busy, and leave me on read
It’s true
Now i know what you do
★ c ★
But you started the war that ended the fire
Now i pay the price ‘cause you’re a serial liar
Wish all the money i spent on you were just on new shoes
They tried to warn mе, said that you were fake
Tеll me the truth, is that even your real name?
Wish i could’ve seen right past the devil’s smile
You poor innocent child
★ v2 ★
Finally, i got back to my house
Called you up
Apparently, you’re up to nothing, just fess up
‘cause i know where you’ve been and i know what you do
But my words just seem to crash right through
You deny
All you do is deny
★ pc ★
Now i’m about to ruin what only us had
‘cause you know i hate nothing more than what i can’t have
You just love to play the game that you are so sad
Well i will gladly tell you that you are just screwed in the head
★ c ★
'cause you started the war that ended the fire
Now i pay the price ‘cause you’re a serial liar
Wish all the money i spent on you were just on new shoes
They tried to warn me, said that you were fake
Tell me the truth, is that even your real name?
Wish i could’ve seen right past the devil’s smile
You poor innocent child
★ b ★
When your house burned to the ground
The cause of the flames were never found
But you know gasoline on a forest fire
Only makes them higher and higher

Biography
While I loved working with that song, I knew exactly what I wanted my style to sound like for my sophomore single. I wanted an upbeat pop song that was completely unexpected and out of nowhere. I wrote “self reflection” with that mindset and kept that idea in the back of my mind.
I wanted “self reflection” to sound like the happier, continued version of “seasons” where the storyline character really found what they wanted and where they were going, and accepted the fact that there are two sides to a relationship, and it’s not one person’s obligation to take ownership for both people in that relationship.
I’m currently working on my debut album, and I cannot wait to share it with you as soon as I can!
