Ian Santillano - Movin' Nowhere

Verse 1
Feels like everyday keeps coming the same
Scrolling past the same things now it’s nearly the spring
Body was supposed to be half the size
Now I’m all out of time and I’ve lost all my drive

Chorus 1
Movin’ nowhere
Can’t go nowhere
Feeling nothing
It’s all the same
Verse 2
Fridays don’t give me that special feeling
Weekends just feel like week-days are becoming bleak
Thought that quitting my old job would be great
No more time put to waste, sadly that's not the case (oh no)

Tired all the time I wish I could sleep
For the next couple weeks thinking that would be neat
(wake me when September ends)
Tried to make a schedule and follow that
All I did was got fat and that feeling I have

Chorus 2
Movin’ nowhere
Can’t go nowhere
Feelin’ nothing
It’s all the same

Bridge
Trying to see (said I’m trynna see yea)
What life can bring (bring yea)
Trying to be (trynna be yea uh)
A different me

GUITAR SOLO
C’mon now

Vamp Chorus
Movin’ nowhere
Can’t go nowhere
Feelin’ nothing
It’s all the same

Funky Outro
Movin’ nowhere Movin’ nowhere
Movin’ nowhere
Movin’ nowhere Movin’ nowhere
Movin’ nowhere

Ian Santillano

From Hayward, California, multi-instrumentalist Ian Santillano started teaching himself how to play a real guitar after years of playing Guitar Hero. Soon after, Ian’s cousin introduced him to John Mayer’s “Continuum” and Ian’s life changed forever. Discovering D'Angelo’s “Voodoo” and later Kendrick Lamar’s “To Pimp A Butterfly” along with all the musicians involved in making those records would play a huge role in shaping Ian’s melodic-funky-soulful sound. In college, Ian would sharpen his music skills through hours of practice and private lessons in the Santa Clara University music program, learning jazz and music theory – all whilst getting a degree in computer engineering. Now at 24, Ian explores his own artistry by writing, arranging, producing, and recording original music with his guitars, his instruments, and his voice. Lush pads, funky drums, dreamy vocals, and aggressive guitar solos become a bed for Ian to lyricise his message of honesty and self experience – whether it be about love, indecision, or admitting one’s faults. Ian has a sound all his own: “Greasy Mayer” – melodic funky soul singer-songwriter with a touch of jazz vocabulary.
