Time - Psychic Shield

Back to the path he had to go how to decode the math he had to know
Full of wrath he's about to blow, he felt like a walking 6 ft volcano
Brainstorms like tornadoes, whirlwind of bars come get a face full
Mash beats like potatoes, serving up emcees like alfredo
I’m rather esoteric, rip a rappers face off and wear it
A chainsaw for a tongue I possess it, Leatherface you can't tear it
World builder each word a brick layed, each syllable a switchblade
I been this way since 6th grade, always writing rhymes and I don’t miss days
I hold the pen like a sword fight, if you see me swing goodbye to your life
Game speed when the sword slice, I don’t forgive but the lord might
I saw his soul walk towards the light, he'll be back soon with a stork bite
Got my psychic shield that's fluorite, I’m on Paulo's Path with a torchlight
I kill these parasites like chloride these demons trying to absorb my light
I see the devil watching court side, I scored 40, they scored 5
Looking at my watch it's war time, i spit knives through a quartz mic
Your train of thoughts a short ride, it got derailed we poured the wine
Victory I know it's mine but the dopamine lies all the time
Illusion and impermanence we’ll all fade in due time

Time

Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
