Okay, February is Black History Month and, uh, we have a presentation from Kevin, Tyrese and Michelle. Get on up here! Alright

Intro: Jay Pharoah
Rosa Parks
Martin Luther King
Harriet Tubman, uh

Verse 1: Jay Pharoah/All
Hold up, it's that time of the year again
It's our month to shine, everybody lend your ear again
We about to get it in and set it off mentally
They really don't teach this stuff in school, it's a mystery
Black history, our forefathers paved the way
Here's 28 reasons to hug a black guy today
Number 1, we deserve a chance
2 through 28, slavery

Chorus: Sasheer Zamata & Jay Pharoah
28 reasons
28 reasons, so many reasons to give a black guy a hug
28 reasons
So many moments, so many heroes, so show our people love

Verse 2: Kenan Thompson
White people, we ain't tryna brawl
You know we ain't mad at all of y'all
We love Michael McDonald and Daryl Hall
Put your hands up if you're down with the cause
Keep 'em up if your ancestors owned us

Chorus: Sasheer Zamata & Jay Pharoah
28 reasons
Number 3, slavery
Number 4, slavery
Number 5, slavery
28 reasons
Number 6, slavery
Number 7, slavery
22, jazz
I'm kidding, slavery

Interlude: Bobby Moynihan & Kate McKinnon
I hear what you're saying and that's real hip
But allow me to play devil's advocate
Sit down, sit down
I'm, I'm sorry
Stupid
You sit

Chorus: Sasheer Zamata & Jay Pharoah
28 reasons
28 reasons for the season
Power to the people, yeah
Put your hands up
28 reasons
So many moments, so many heroes, so show our people love (oh yeah)
28 reasons
We wanted many reasons
Did a lot of research
And slavery kept comin' up
28 reasons

Outro: Kenan Thompson, Class & Sasheer Zamata
When I say slavery, you say sorry
Slavery, sorry
Slavery, sorry
Oooh, yeah yeah yeah

Skit: Kate McKinnon
Very cool, very sorry and very cool

Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!

Saturday Night Live is a long-running comedy show that debuted on NBC in 1975. Created by Lorne Michaels, it runs on late-night Saturday with mostly live performances aside from pre-recorded skits (including animation and music videos) featuring a celebrity host, and also musical performances—on rare occasions, the performance musician is the host. In spite of week-long rehearsals, things will go wrong, often with hilarious results. It made stars out of the original “Not Ready for Primetime” cast (Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd) and served to launch the careers of among others, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, and Tina Fey.
