Time - Third Eye Wept

original text at lyrnow.com/1967194
He was shaken awake his eyes felt like cement
He didn't have a cent but somehow felt content
He was in a new land where things came with intent
With thoughts we often torment and torture with lament
Discipline he underwent, doubt he had to prevent
Cause if he focused on the negative it would start to descend
Our mantras materializе the thoughts we invent
Wе put the monsters under our bed with the fear that we accept
Intoxicated with the rot that we stored to ferment
Now we're drunk on dialect full of guilt and regret
That's the devils duet, singing a ballad depressed
Eyes glowing red like 2 burning cigarettes
I'm not trying to judge my enemies i wish em the best
Cuz i know hating is self hate that we try to project
I'm trying to rewire my brain, solder and circumvent
Finding conduits to blessings so misery disconnects

At night i close my eyes i center and connect
I travel other realms with the technology of breath
Some call em dreams others just forget
My eyes stayed closed while my third eye wept
At night i close my eyes i center and connect
I travel other realms with the technology of breath
Some call em dreams others just forget
My eyes stayed closed while my third eye wept
He dreamnt he found a language that didn't need words
The same type of connection of a shepherd and his herd
The same type of connection of a tree giving a message
Like when you walk by there's a new thought that you're left with
Or when you go outside and find a certain rock
Or did that rock find you is this the way the earth talks?
Or when a loved one dies and you see a butterfly
Is this how they visit and say hi from otherside?
Every time i find a dime i say hi to my grandma
And i think about my ancestors when i see shamrocks
I listen to the birds the comradery of crows
I listen to the plants, determination of a rose
Have you ever thought about someone then seen them the next day?
I think thoughts are things and we make what we say
All things are one we just get fooled by shapes
All things are one are these illusions we made?

At night i close my eyes i center and connect
I travel other realms with the technology of breath
Some call em dreams others just forget
My eyes stayed closed while my third eye wept
At night i close my eyes i center and connect
I travel other realms with the technology of breath
Some call em dreams others just forget
My eyes stayed closed while my third eye wept

Biography

edit bio
Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
