Time - Shadow Intervention

Come on dude why you even still rapping?
It's been 20 years and nothing has happened
It's a pipe dream, get you head out of the clouds
Look at the truth, I'm not talking bout doubt
There's a 1000 rappers every square mile
I saw your picture in the dictionary by denial
I saw you in the DSM5 by delusion
Let me introduce myself, I'm your conclusion
Can't you read they writing wack in the comments
They even used a bunch of emojis of vomit
And instead of reflecting you just blocked em
You hide away your misery, well I'm the locksmith
You still have a job and you never had a hit
You been rapping 20 years you should fucking quit
You rap off beat plus it's too abstract
Talking bout psychology no one wants to hear that
You're too radical, your politics go too far
Plus you use too many syllables in a fucken bar
You're monotone, boring, plus you can't sing
Rap doesn't need you, what value do you bring?
You're almost 40, your friends don't support you
You need an intervention in a spiritual courtroom
You've tried autotune, you've tried selling out
You've tried gimmicks and features, who's the villain now?
You never sold out a show or been on the radio
You're a white dude rapping on the slim shady show
You go by Time, you can't even google that
You should be MC Cringe, change you name to that
You don't have a seat not even a crumb on the table
You even got dropped by Kweli's label
I'm your shadow I Shouldn't be showing you the light
I'm here to speak your fears, don't mistake it as a fight

edit bio
Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
