Time - Magic Tea

We’re on Paulo’s Path
We’re on Paulo’s Path
We’re on Paulo’s Path
We’re on Paulo’s Path

He fed the fire as the clouds turned pink
He boiled his Ten Wu tea and he started to drink
The moon clocked in the bats did back flips
The flame spiraled out into fractal gymnastics
The artists woke up for their graveyard shifts
To paint with Krylon like rail yard alchemists
He liked the smell of aerosol and VOCs
The mosquitoes did air assaults the meal was me
Is thе earth just a carousel we ridе it and leave?
The junkyard had beheaded dolls and car batteries
When the aliens come that's probably all they'll see
The ruins of capitalism and a trash filled sea
Money over everything that's evil math to me
No gods no masters is how it has to be
Self-mastery that's Paulo's Path for me
Throw in 3 caps and laugh and have some magic tea
Did plants invent us just to move them around?
And give us ideas like planting seeds in the ground?
Are pheromones the original internet?
An invisible way to get messages sent?
Is consciousness more than the tissue in the cranium?
What lies beyond it, inside the subterranean?
Learn from the child there's release in the tantrum
We're taught to hold it in and silence does damage
Dominators want you to serve a machine
To work a bullshit job with a bullshit routine
Institutions make puppets so I’m chewing the strings
I find teachers in waterfalls, rivers, and streams
The animal prints in the snow made a figure 8
The way they braided paths seem to look like DNA
No one knows what’s going on cuz no one knows each other
No one will save you we can only save each other
We’re on Paulo’s Path
We’re on Paulo’s Path
We’re on Paulo’s Path
We’re on Paulo’s Path

Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
