Time - Cinderblocks

To Rate
We used to steal rims and drop their car on cinderblocks
Now I steal fire, and drop rhymes with cinder thoughts
I turn any studio booth into a tinder box
And swipe left on any negative inner thought
I'm not a philosopher, I'm just a critical thinker
I'm not a rapper, I'm just a rhyming middle finger
Addicted to these bass kicks, addicted to these snare drums
Dissing rappers is basic, I hold the mic like a bear hug
Eros was born out of chaos, I was born to slay all
The devil don't take a day off he want me on his payroll
Follow Paulo's Path till it payoff, god never say no
I think this world want my heart so I fatality Kano
Never had writer's block, my baby bottle had draino
I'm probably just a shadow in that cave with Plato
I swished the earth through a black hole with a hook shot
I seen everything in this world, except a good cop
Paulo's path and I'm running red lights

Time

Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
