An old man picked up a stick and wrote in the sand
Light emitted from his chest the boy didn't understand
Even though they had never met he wrote all of his secrets
The name of his parents, he wrote his life in sequence
The man wrote things the boy had never told anyone
He said he could see records like a psychic librarian
He said realities a veil, things aren't what they seem
He said your superpower is you aren't afraid to dream
There's a mysterious force known as the dream killer
It locks possibility down into a deep cellar
With a furnace of desire, the heat's a dream melter
Find the monument of doubt and destroy each pillar
The boy took the axe but he only saw trees
He thought they were monuments trying to deceive
He chopped down homes and nests, he made the animals flee
Lumberjack drug, he said I think I'm chopping me
When the tree fell he saw blood on his arm
When you want a dream too bad it can often cause harm
He stared at the stump and reflected on his actions
His desire to win and go fast moved him backwards
He left the forest smelling of pine and regret
He walked in a daze with a slouched silhouette
He cried at the cracked eggs and destroyed nests
But the birds sang a song like a forgiving clarinet
It healed his soul they didn't see him as a threat
He was stuck in a cycle of guilt that kept him upset
That's when he figured it out, nothing was anonymous
When he doubted himself is when he built the monument
The eggs healed, the nest reassembled the tree rose
He closed his eyes and took down doubt in 3 blows
He said maybe negative forces help you find your potential
Ice becomes liquid then gas, change is elemental
