Time - Smash The Glass

Staring in the mirror like muthafucka who are you?
Art for a broken heart man that shit is super glue
I'm seeing through the lies clear, hoping for a truer view
I got my mask on but I'm sicker than the superflu
Bullshit I maneuver through, drama and manure too
Flow super smooth, I'm the shit like pooper scoop
Wolfing out in the booth like the mic is super moon
Intro and conclude you, welcome to your super doom
Rainbow body moonwalking through the bardo though
Peace is more valuable than a pot of god
Allergic to the fakes and I'm sneezing like I caught a cold
Drinking coffee writing rhymes like a script, java code
I rap in thе hot or cold my data lava flow
If god wanna kill nazis I am not opposed
All the colonizers camе for the Colorado gold
Now they genocide for cobalt in the Congo though
Liars on the news and the Klan is wearing blue
They livestream the killing till the genocide is you
Free Palestine and all of Turtle Island too
I write with a spotlight trying to find the truth
Might style on you and kill you with a rhyme too
Spill your blood on a track clean up on aisle 2
Blood on the track like Dylan in the booth
Flow sweet like candy home run Baby Ruth
You could see my friends shuffling on a smoking flag
Fuck a half mast might leave that broke in half
Poetry witness the power words spoken has
Body slamming your Giant lies with Hogan wrath
Used to want to be on Aftermath but I was failing math class
Teacher told me that my home would be an underpass
Jokes on him I really had the last laugh
I been around the world and it ain't my last lap
Back to my comment about the underpass
It’s not classist, there's nothing wrong with that
Until the cops come sweep your home with a gas mask
This the type of sick shit capitalism has
They steal the land then try to rewrite the past
These genociders lying bout UNRWA's staff
The trauma is vast, type of data you can't graph
7 generations of pain from one bomb blast
The facts got slashed the mosques got smashed
They cut the food the water, the medicine the gas
ICJ showed the genocide was planned
Genocide Joe lied about the babies then backtracked
The truth took a last gasp, strike until it crash
This is an emergency smash the glass

Time was a rock band from Yugoslavia that made a significant impact on the music scene in the 1970s. Formed in 1971 by Dado Topić, who had previously been a member of Korni Grupa, the band quickly gained a following with their unique blend of progressive rock and jazz influences.

The original lineup of Time included Dado Topić on vocals, Tihomir “Pop” Asanović on organ, Vedran Božić on guitar, Mario Mavrin on bass, Ratko Divjak on drums, and Brane Lambert Živković on piano and flute. Over the years, the lineup changed frequently, but the core members remained dedicated to creating innovative and captivating music.

Time released three albums during their time together, each showcasing their musical versatility and talent. Their first album featured a prominent Hammond organ, piano, and flute, while their second album had a harder sound with several ballads. The third album introduced a jazz-funk production style, further expanding their musical repertoire.

Some of Time's most popular songs include “Da li znaš da te volim”, “Rock ‘n’ roll u Beogradu”, and “Istina mašina”, which showcased their ability to create memorable and engaging music that resonated with audiences.

After disbanding in late 1977, Dado Topić embarked on a successful solo career, but the legacy of Time continued to live on. In 1998 and 2001, the band reunited for a limited number of live concerts, delighting fans with their timeless music and energetic performances.

Today, Time still plays together as a rock trio, continuing to captivate audiences with their unique sound and enduring musical legacy. Their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists, solidifying their place in the history of Yugoslavian rock music.
